Cannot chain artifact effect

I cannot use cocnut flask to gain travel symbol from assistant on board (I get a coin by default and cannot choose plane symbol) -> in order to use that symbol to trigger my own assistant (boot->arrow).

The BGA implementation of this game does not let you use any travel symbol until you have incurred a need for a travel symbol. Any time you ever want to use a travel symbol in this game, you must FIRST spend the travel symbol; when you do that, the game then asks you how you want to pay for that, and then you can click on something that gives you travel. Or if you have no available travel symbol, you have to cancel the action that spent it.

Two exceptions to that are the Aeroplane and the Hot air balloon.Their abilities include free travel symbols,but to use their abilities,you need to click on the cards themselves. You will then be asked which site you want to travel to.
