I found the old logo when installing BGA as a web app. The icon that appears in the app is still the old one.
That's the issue, pal: IDENTITY. By the course and flow of time on the internet, what we crave right now (as a global society/humans living in current times) is identity, so you don't go and erase that, that'd be such a bad move. The good move would be to foster the idenity your community already has. Psychology, sociology and anthropology back this.

My first thought was, "Did we learn nothing from Cracker Barrel?"

The bold colors and jet black clashes with the muted tones of the website. I would argue that the majority player base is over 20 years of age (not teenagers/kids), so the flashy colors and animated loading screens don't appeal to us. If you feel the absolute need to change the color palette of the logo, why not go for the muted yellow/orange that we see for our table notifications? Otherwise, keep the original softer color palette that is easy on the eyes.

Okay, no disrespect, but I just noticed that the blue-red-orange are almost the same colors as the Burger King logo.

The new logo is harsh, sharp corners and lines, and less colorful, and it doesn't really match the graphics feel of so much of the game art; however, I suppose someone had to justify their job.
I really agree!!

Far too intrusive, the loading screen one is just awful.

Why do these corporations like screwing with successful branding so much. Do they ever learn

I like the logo.
the old one is still the 'app' icon when you install it.

really, the text ones are okay, even cool looking, inviting and fresh. but the colors of the first one (colors all in all) are awful. this orange color doesn't look good neither with blue nor with red.

For players who joined BGA after the current design was implemented, please note that the logo is not a cloud or a pillow, but is actually meant to represent a table!
Yup. When I first encountered it long ago my first thought was: "What is Kirby doing here?" But since I like Kirby I thought it was OK. Now I think: "Where's my Kirby??"

So every now and then they come up with something that serves no purpose, adds no value, costs a lot of money, and around which they create a lot of hype. There are certainly better things to do with these resources than repainting things that don't need to be repainted.
Absolute hard YES!

C'mon Asomdee, don't fck with this fanbase. This community was built on anothers' shoulders, work and passion, and as much as it was sad to see them sell BGA, it was understood it was for a reasonable intention and situation. Does BGA have to state its relationship to you? Not necessarily. But if you think it has to, don't go messing around with and identity already built and try to rebuild it. Let it be and be subtle when hinting this site belongs to you. Be respectful towards us and avoid yourself the all-time classic mistake corporations make. Just go see a bit of corporate history and how products/services fall from their fanbase's grace and the consecuences of that; eventually all of them vanished into crappiness and got totally forgotten as soon as a new option arose. Don't do that to BGA, to us and to yourself.
Completely agree with the above. I dislike the new logo. That annoying flashing in your face every time you load a page. Hard "No". The little mostly black and white logo in the corner is just ugly. It's a shame when people go off the deep end with their bright new ideas that are completely unnecessary.
