Hello, fellow zoo lovers!
The Emu Cup, the largest real-time tournament for top-level players, will go into its third season soon - this time with 64 players. We will start October 27th and the tournament will last until March 29th.
As usual, the elite of the elite is present again. Season 1 was won by a modest yet fortunate panda, and the final of Season 2 between monkeydo and ScientistOmni will be played in a few days. In each tournament, some of the strongest and most famous players were amongst the competitors and for Season 3, there will be no shortage of top players once again. What How, sorryimlikethis, duyanhcao, portgard, extrazen, Duci9 and thumbean are only a few of the names that you can encounter in the Emu Cup.
Do you have a peak BGA of at least 600 and want to test your skills against the best? With a plenty of open spots left, we are looking for skilled and motivated players who want to test their proficiency at Ark Nova and compete against other top players. You will be required to play about one best-of-3 per week - only real-time, no turn-based!

Requirement for participation
- Peak BGA elo of at least 600
- Ability to reliably play all the assigned matches and stay committed to the end
- Be nice and fair

Game settings
- Real-time - normal speed (no turn-based!)
- All matches will be best-of-3 or best-of-5
- 2 players, map ban-pick with asymmetric maps possible (so no guaranteed mirror maps like in arena!)
- Map pool: 1a-8a (arena maps) + 9 (Geographical Zoo)
- No Marine Worlds (only base game)

Format:
1) Group Stage (64 players): ~ 8 weeks
- 8 groups with 8 players each, best-of-3 single round-robin, top 2 of each group advance
2) Knockout Stage (16 players): ~ 12 weeks
- Double-elimination KO tree with a winner bracket (best-of-5) and a loser bracket (best-of-3)
- Elimination occurs after two losses: first loss ⇒ loser bracket, second loss ⇒ elimination
- Grand Final (best-of-7): winner of winner bracket (starts with a 1-0 match score) vs. winner of loser bracket

Match scheduling
- In order to play a match, players will simply contact their opponent via Discord or BGA and find a time where both can play the match. You can play each match whenever you want and in any order you want, as long as it is before the deadline of the respective stage.
- All games will be best-of-3 or best-of-5, but of course you can play a series over the span of multiple days if you don't have the time or the stamina to do it in one day.
Important: Please only sign up if you can finish all your matches. It is very important for us to avoid dropouts, as this would affect everybody's standings.
