How do others feel about bad (not talented) players?

I love the game Res Arcana, but I *. I can barely score 6 points before someone wins. But I do enjoy the game and don't mind losing. But I am worried about either joining or hosting a game because i don't think anyone would enjoy an "easy" win. Are people OK with playing with others that are honestly trying their best to win, but just maybe not the brightest to this game. (For some reason I do very well with typical Ameritrash style games, so not always a bad player) I honestly enjoy Euro games, but feel like I am ruining other's experience because I am not good at them. Should I just stick with the games I do well with, or should I join in games where I am pretty sure I will always come in last place? I just don't want to waste other's peoples time or have them have a bad experience because their win would feel "easy".

I try to see weak players as people who will get better and thus increase the number of potential future opponents. As long as you have learned the rules, I would be fine with it. It's okay if you don't understand a few, but don't go in blind. If I felt the win was going to be too easy, I'd probably join another game of the same game at the same time.

Others might disagree. Honestly, some people seem mainly concerned about their Elo rating. Maybe they won't like that they won't get many points against you. But I would say, they don't have any right to complain about you. There are ways to ruin someone else's experience at BGA. Simply not being good at a game isn't one of them.

And if you start the game, everyone can see your Elo before they join.

Here's another vote for not feeling bad about being a bad player.

These good players can easily exclude people with insufficient skill from playing their games, so they have nothing to complain about. There's probably some of them that welcome an easy win, too!

Yeah, sometimes I don't like being stomped on by particularly good players, so I will exclude the higher ranges. But it depends on the game. I figure if someone feels similarly about my skill level (whether they think I am too strong for them, or more likely, too weak), they can also set filters to restrict to around their level.

I have played this game over 2000 times. The first 500 or so, I was bad. I learned a lot from losing to the better players and asking anyone of them who were willing to offer me tips along the way. I am now consistently in the top 30 and even top 10 in the arena. I agree with the other comments that people don't have room to complain about "bad" players when they can use the settings to exclude. And for anyone who is "bad" now, stay with it; ask for tips; get better, and get in the arena! This is a great game and you can't get better any other way than playing it!
