How can someone play conservation project without requirements?

Hey Ark Nova community,

There has been a question puzzling me quite a while now while playing Ark Nova online here.
Basically there has been some games on both normal and Marine animals variations where an opposing player supports a conservation project requiring specific animal or continent type for which he has no requirements. For example, he has 3 icons for Australia (as far as I can see it on his board) but he somehow supports project requiring 4 animals. How is this possible? How can he get +1 (or sometimes even +2) on this animal category/continent/... for free?

Hi

Basically two ways to do that
1/ sponsor that allow it (two different exist) giving +1
2/ a special tile awarded on the conservation point track (or reputation track) granting a +1 as well

Can you maybe just clarify a bit your 2nd point. Your 1st is super clear but second I cannot really imagine what would that be.

In the marine worlds expansion there is a bonus tile (the kind you find on the conservation point track) that can be used as an extra tag of your choice when doing a conservation project.
