Help I am losing reputation points and I have no clue

Hi
Today I was playing connect4 in real time.
Somehow I lost a move and then lost the game.
Then i lost 20 reputation points.
Now my reputation points is so low I cant play Arena games - so I am going to fall behind there.
I have no clue how it happened!!!
(I am sure its me and not the system)
What should I have been paying attention to, so it doesnt happen again?

Did you get timed out and then kicked for not playing? That's one way you could lose reputation.

If someone boots you from a game because you run out of time, you lose reputation. Yes, you got booted from a recent Connect Four game, but also a Terraforming Mars game not long before that, and a Reversi game within a day. Getting booted from three games in such a short period results in fairly heavy penalties. The first one is only 10 points and should be considered a warning. If you get another, that's 20 points, and at that point, I'd be more careful about what games I join and making sure I can finish them (possibly even sticking to turn-based if needed).

You'll earn back a point of reputation for each game you finish without going over time. That's the only way to get your reputation back up. In the meantime, if you're blocked from playing Arena, well, there's nothing you can do, except try and get your reputation back up as quickly as possible.

Like nik said, you will get your reputation back by completing games without running out of time. You can even karma farm by playing a bunch of short games quickly.

I keep the Jewish Sabbath (Friday sundown to Saturday Sundown - + a couple of hours on either side)
So I am offline 27-30 hours - where I can't play or respond.

Yes. Do not sit in any games in which you can't accumulate a time bank of more than 30 hours. That means sticking to turn-based games with two moves per day or slower. Or a tournament with a really long round time, possibly 15 days or 30 days, because you'll be losing 27-30 hours every week and tournament clocks do not replenish after every move.

This ended with a question mark, but I can't tell what the question is. It seems like maybe you are instead answering the question above my post, but because you didn't quote it or reference in any way, it's hard to know for sure. But the OP doesn't have to go as extreme as one 1 move every 2 days. 1 2 moves per day allows you to accumulate a time bank of up to 36 hours. Obviously, they would have to make sure they did indeed have 30 hours in the bank before sundown on Friday.

And is it an automatic boot or can the other player have pity on me and let me go past?
