Escape Artist Question/Ruling

Let's say I have a dog that need 3 food and I have a escape artist trait on it.
Am I Allowed To feed the dog the 3 food or am I only allowed to feed the dog 1 food only?

I can't speak for the game designer about a ruling for the physical game, but on BGA, a dog with Escape Artist can only be fed 1 food.

Why would you want to feed a dog more food than you needed to, out of interest?

In theory if you have too much food to reduce (or avoid) the penalty.

unlike cat lady, i dont believe there is a penalty for having extra food at the end
