The ELO conversation is a recurring one. The fact that you addressed the point specifically to me means that you’re heard. What it doesn’t mean is that it will be resolved straight away.

The 2 bugs that “were poorly handled” have been fixed and that’s what the bug report tool is for. Regarding your Arena Points, you might want to contact our support team that can look into it.

And I’ll never stress enough the fact that we are a small team and sometimes things do not go as fast as you want them to. There is no will to overlook players’ feedback and posting regularly about a given topic doesn’t make it go faster.

What do you mean exactly by 'recurring conversation'? If you mean that players are still complaining about it, that's true, and it's because it has never been addressed properly. If you mean that BGA people are discussing it, well, we have seen no sign of that in the last 1.5 YEARS. And it's not just the fact that it has not been resolved (although that's bad enough), it's also that there has been ZERO official feedback in the ELO topic. Small team might be an excuse for slow action, but not for zero communication for 1.5 years, especially after explicit promises to the contrary. Not even something along the lines of 'Sorry guys, we don't have enough resources to address this issue in the foreseeable future, so it stays as it is now' - which took me less than 20 seconds to type. Just nothing.

I did exactly that by submitting a bug report. The fact that they decided to address only part of the issue means that they are the ones with a task to do, not me.

Will or not, overlooking players' feedback has been exactly what BGA has been doing for several major issues over the years. Without actual action, your comment 'your voice is being heard' is meaningless, just the next entry in a long line of empty promises from BGA.

Let me circle back to the bug report first: the aim of that tool is to fix what is broken, and it is the case: what you reported upon has been fixed. The fact that you didn’t get your points back is a separate issue that isn’t a development one. That’s why I suggested contacting customer support to get them back (just to be clear, this is not a promise you will).

When it comes to the lack of communication on some topics, this is why I am here now. I can’t speak about what happened in the past years as I joined BGA a couple of months ago.

When I say “you’re being heard”, it is not an empty promise. I am here to talk to the community, and I fully intend to do that. I will engage in hot topics as well as lighter ones. I will share some news, popular and unpopular, on the evolution of BGA whenever there is something to be shared. And I hope we’ll get along just fine, as I am sure that someone as involved as you has a lot of positive stories and points to share with the rest of us.

Why should I worry about identifying and classifying various aspects of a bug and figuring out who is responsible for which part from BGA's side? I don't even understand the term 'development issue'. I don't know the internal organization of BGA either. My point is, once I have reported the bug and given all details I can, I shouldn't have to worry about any of those, it should be handled by whoever is responsible from BGA's side. If a single person fixes every issue, that's OK. If various personnel handle the different aspects of the bug, that's also OK. But if they do not fix the bug entirely, that's not OK.

Very well, and I hope that you succeed. To me (and hundreds of others in the ELO thread), the biggest issue is with the ELO changes. Please let us know what the official BGA stance about ELO changes is, and what can we expect for the future. Also, even though you can't speak about what happened in the past, you should be aware that there is a LOT of resentment.

I admire your optimism. I enjoy playing on BGA, but much of the credit for that goes to volunteer devs. Meanwhile, actual BGA staff has spent a lot of effort to make site-wide changes that make the site worse. (And yes, I understand they also do a lot of invisible work, and the site would not work properly without that. My complaint is about the 'unforced' changes.)

Welcome BalGAmor. Hopefully you are our savior. We all feel we just need a person on the forums often enough to feel like our voices are being heard and some communication is happening. Which it looks like you are doing. Bravo. Thanks. Keep up the great work.

So, now that another couple of weeks have gone by - what's up with communication on the ELO issues? (Or, to be honest, any other issues I raised last time, like bug reports not handled properly.)

I have nothing new to communicate on what you call ELO issues. I talked about bug reports in other threads and don't have anything to add either. When there is something new, I will let the community know.

That's very disappointing to hear after I brought up fully valid, logical arguments, and in general, opportunities to make this site a better place. Apparently I was very naive about what to expect from the new Lead Community Manager.
