Poll: Which map do you want next?

Post by thoun »

What would be your favorite map to bring to BGA next, if you could only chose one?

Please note that we can't promise we will take the most voted one, as other factors are to be taken into account (publisher approval, technical difficulties, ...), but it will definitely help us to chose the next map to bring to BGA.

It would be truly wonderful if you could develop another Ticket to Ride for Christmas Day,
creating joy and connection for all.

My favourites are Pennsylvania and Germany for introducing the stocks/passengers mechanics, which incentivize players to build quickly instead of stocking cards. Especially on higher number of players it makes for really interesting clashes of styles, would also be cool to have a map with a 4 or 5 player arena format.

United Kingdom is the most unique expansion map, and would be great on BGA.

It starts everyone in England exclusively, only able to claim 1- and 2-length routes. But through purchasing technology cards and gaining visas to other regions, each person carves out their own asymmetrical strategy. There's options for wide, tall, short, long, destination, card-draw, ships, and more. It's the most complicated Ticket to Ride but if you're somebody who likes games like Wingspan and Forest Shuffle, it's probably the most fun.

Asia is THE best map of the collection, even better than USA.

(Would be kinda cool to have South Korea too, real ones know why ;) )

Totally approve ☺️
I have this one at home, those technologies are great to play
And easier to make counting with BGA 👋

I don't hate Nordic, in fact I own IRL. The art is probably the most beautiful of all the maps. It is gorgeous. However, game balance-wise, it is actually a very poor map. I'm actually astonished that it got so many votes on BGA, it's quite the inverse opinion of others online. The main problem is that it is extremely linear. It is much too easy to get impossibly blocked from where you need to go.

I voted for a map that got very few votes. London, to be exact. I like the City games. It's good for when you just want to play a short game. London is my favorite of them, but I also enjoy NY, SF, and Amsterdam.

I'm a huge fan of the series, so anything new on here TTR is very welcome! Despite what I said, I'm hoping Nordic can somehow overtake UK. I think that one is also a bit overrated. The extra mechanics are very interesting, but a part of the beauty of TTR has always been in its simplicity so it doesn't move me very much.

Good point... I hope the developers consider external popularity ratings too, I'd guess that the share of BGA users who visit the forums is small.

It seems more interesting for BGA players to follow BGA players opinion rather than external (non BGA) players ;)
Feel free to share this forum thread to any BGA player who might have missed it.

TTR Cyberpunk - a futuristic megopolis of maglev rails, underground, and overhead monorails. A mixture of automated cargo, high-speed lines, and individual shuttle cars. TTR needs a futuristic refresh on the franchise, with some new, cool, mechanics.
