why play this with >2p?

Out of curiosity: why do most people seem to prefer to play this with high player counts? This game seems perfect at 2p to me, as you can make two moves each time it's your turn then, which makes turns much more fun. And having more other players doesn't make any difference to the actual gameplay or decisions. Or am I missing something?

High player count games is a fast way to get ELO if you believe your rating is too low due to lack of games played.
