How to see which tournaments I'm still in

As a follow-up question, I play pretty much entirely on mobile using the app - is there any way to keep this link there? I can't seem to send a message to myself, or any other typical method I'd use to keep a note inside a system. Bookmarks would be on a browser somewhere else, not within the game interface...

to just dump some information you could make a dummy account and send a text message to that account.
to see that chat you can either go to that account profile and click messages or if you have few other chats going on it's easily accessible in the menu below your profile pic in the upper right on main page.

They just want to keep a link handy. This seems like a roundabout way to do something they were already given a solution for above.

depends on whether they want to use the "About me" field as a platform to introduce themselves to people visiting their profile or not. for me, it would be annoying when i check out a profile and what i see there is a grocery list or sth, that's somewhat annoying, but ok if that's what they want to introduce themselves with so be it...
