If you click the link and you are not logged in to X, for some reason you are shown some posts from 2023 and earlier. If you are logged in to X (or you use a workaround), there are regular posts every few days.

during the maintenance today I was shown a page that suggested I could check out BGA's X page for updates. I did not realise That BGA was still active on that more than problematic network. What keep's you there? The hate speech? The outright holocaust denial?

OK
I don't get it.
None of those articles has anything to do with boardgames.
Why would they be relevant to BGA? I don't get it, please explain.
They have to do with what twitter has become and why it should be avoided.

If you search the history of EVERY product or company, you'll always find something about them you don't agree with or support. I sure hope you also don't drive VW products, drink Fanta, or use Bayer medicines.

Surely there is a difference between history and the actual present?

Agreed. As a source of information when BGA is down, X is not a suitable at all. Why not? Because people who are not logged into X, only see the account's most popular posts from a few years back. They do not see recent posts about the actual down status. So it would be better to use whatever alternative that actually shows some information.

Well THAT sure is a great argument for them to stop using Twitter.

Is there more information about the site issues during the last days?

fwiw, I agree with OP.

BGA has some need to communicate with its users when your servers are down. The choices of platforms to do this (Xitter and Facebook) are terrible, and reflect poorly on BGA. With the greatly increased membership fees I'd expect you could afford a real status service where you could keep us updated without requiring us to go to those places.

And on related topic, I wish BGA would provide more transparency about the service issues. What has been communicated is very little, essentially just "we're aware of problems and trying to fix them".
