Vote for bugs

Post by Pluzgi »

Hello
It shows that there a several complaints about this game in the bugs section.
I like this game, but it's not playable because randomness is surely not working correctly.
If you like the game too, vote for the respective bug you are detecting in the bugs section.

Switching to Framework and Kingdomino again, until it has been fixed.;-)

Have a great day.

There is nothing wrong with the dice.
Just your perception of randomness.

How you come to this statement? Did you monitor the randomness?

Did you? Without evidence in either direction, your position seems a lot less likely.

I agree. Nothing wrong with the dice.

Do you know the probabilities of each roll with two and three dice? Plus keep in mind the rerolling effect on probabilities and on misses. Be careful with rerolling when some middling numbers are already impossible to write down.
Maybe work on your strat and think carefully before you roll in terms of how many dice in which color you want to roll. Most players tend to need to roll many very high numbers in order to make their strat work. But the math works against that and a clever opponent will too.

Why do we see few sevens for example?

Because most players roll a lot with three dice (low probability of rolling a 7) and with 1 die (impossible to roll a 7).

Two dice are rolled less frequently, so there are fewer sevens. Also many players do not want sevens and reroll them frequently.

Why we see so many 10s and 11s?
Because they are the most likely results with three dice. Simple as that.
With a single roll of three dice you have a 25% probability to roll either a 10 or a 11. 12.5% for each number. All other numbers are increasingly less likely to be rolled with three dice.

Also, our intuition about randomness is wrong. If you draw a line and ask people to put 20 dots randomly on it, the dots will be more spread out than true randomness. If you show them a picture of randomly generated dots, they will think it looks too clumpy. True randomness has far more repeats than we instinctively feel it should.

Related, we tend to notice and remember the repeated dice rolls, because they feel weird to us. Whereas we immediately forget the times we didn’t get a repeat, because that seems normal and what we would expect.

To illustrate it, people want randomness to look like the right panel, but in reality it looks more like the left (oh, look, there big empty areas, the plot is surely rigged!).

This may explain why links don't show when I post something either, which is why I've been using Imgur links instead of [img] tags.
