Thoughts on conceding?

Post by rocdocta »

What are peoples thoughts on conceding? I get annoyed that people will concede in games with literally 1 move to go. I dont know if this affects standing or arena points etc, but i consider this to be extremely poor form and childish. We are here to play games and finish them, not to flip the table if you think you are losing.

I think there should be some form of penalty for serial conceders.

If it's a 2 player game, I don't mind if my opponent is conceding. I usually play it out myself.

There should be a penalty for the same person reposting the same topic.

It's not the same, conceding ends immediately with a 1-0, you're thinking if the player quits or times out.

I wish people would concede when they are losing a game like battle sheep or quoridor. I don't get why there is a 50 percent rule in battle sheep. Sometimes you make a bad choice and have lost well before then. I play at 1 move a day speed so why waste days when the game is lost.

Obviously there are other games where losing is less certain and I would expect them to go to the end. If the game is productive carry on. If it is clearly lost concede and move on to a rematch or new game. It is a having fun to me.
