Pie rule

Post by Trepiastok »

In my view, a major mistake is the rejection of the “pie rule” in the Arena. The point is that some openings in Kalah are inherently winning. And while there aren’t many such openings in Kalah-6, and winning isn’t that easy, in Kalah-5 and Kalah-4 there are significantly more of them.

The problem is that the “gurus” are appointed not from the most experienced and skilled players, but simply from those who play a lot. This leads to beginner-level mistakes.

In other words, the most "experiences and skilled" players need to play more to take back the votes?

Maybe need, but in reality a beginner can play more. I'd like a guru to have at least a 500 rating.

I agree, pie rule Is necessary with 5, may help with 5 and not necessary but not even an issue with 6.

Who are the gurus that voted? How can I see them?

:D No way. It’s such a democratic website that no one can see the “gurus’” solutions.

One way or another, I’m not going to play Arena (and tournaments) without the pie rule.

I’m sorry for posting in this thread — the admins have, for some unclear reason, blocked the more appropriate ones. I want to report that the semi-legendary Kumbi from Hungary, who topped the rating seven years ago, has friended Roua. I really hope we’ll manage to arrange a match with him on any terms.
