Playing an Animal without fulfilling its conditions

Hi,

I just played this game: https://boardgamearena.com/gamereview?table=774388529

I noticed that I was able to play an animal without fulfilling the conditions. I had neither a special token nor a card upgrade that allowed me to play it regardless. The move in question is move 258. I played the Brown Spider Monkey without having the required Primate icon.

Am I missing something?
