Who wins a tournament in case of tie?

We both tied 2-2 after extra time. Hence, I would like to know if anyone has idea on how is defined who passes or wins the tournament instead of doing a rematch.
I know, is just a game, but I am quite pissed if this is just generated randomly and there is no specific rule. The event is of course unlikely but ... it happened.

Fun to mention, that player is the same that has blocked the entire top board to keep being top1 top2

I don’t remember which tournament it was or the game number, but it happened to me twice. In one case, I eliminated my opponent; in the other, my opponent eliminated me. I’m also curious about what criteria the decision was based on.

I think the criteria is: the winner is the one who has lower ELO

According to the dev, this is an internal roll dice. I would rather change it to one special shoot each at least. Perhaps even to every game? Or at least for tournament.

To clarify things further: this is not in the game's control. The game either has a winner, or BGA chooses one when it has to (in case of direct elimination tournaments). From what I could see when I looked for the answer, it seems to be a coin toss. But it's not implemented as such in the game, it's the platform doing it.

There's no way for the game to specify a tie-breaker which should only be used for tournaments. Either the game has ties or it doesn't. The rulebook says it's a tie in this case so I can't just make up a new rule, which would apply to all games indiscriminately.

This is something related to tournaments, and not to this specific game. It has been discussed several times before. From what I remember, the "winner" is decided by BGA account seniority, but I don't know if that's officially confirmed, or if that's a different edge case.

I think I know that player I hate him a lot. We match frequently (I am not that good) and I beat him 4 times in a row (so satisfying, goodbye to your n.1)

I think I know that player I hate him a lot. We match frequently (I am not that good) and I beat him 4 times in a row (so satisfying, goodbye to your n.1)

When you defeat him few times he blocks you. So he does not risk losing points.

Honestly, I’m starting to feel like the game is actually mocking me.

In my last 10 Arena matches, I’ve lost over 100 points due to what I can only describe as completely absurd outcomes. On top of that, in Tournament mode, I got eliminated in the semifinal after a draw. No loss, no mistake-heavy game — just out.

What makes this even harder to understand is that my opponent had a higher ELO rating than me. According to all commonly shared theories (ELO protection, underdog advantage, variance balancing, etc.), this result simply doesn’t make sense.

At this point, none of the theories seem valid anymore:
• Higher ELO doesn’t protect you
• Lower ELO doesn’t explain the point swing

Seems that is just a coin toss OR it can be seniority.
