You get full Arena points even if the opponent quits on turn 1. Here is an example:

Did I miss something? That proves that your opponent lost the "expected" points, not that you won them.

As you see in the elo change, the quitter loses the full amount, plus a penalty, but you didn't win any elo due to the 0% progression. How do you know it was not the same for the Arena points?
You're right, to show that I got the points, I had to additionally consider the next game, but I'm too lazy to do that. Instead, I found another example.:
