Auto-play last card in hand.

Post by Rallelo »

If someone is down to the last card in their hand (they saved tribune for last) then there isn't a choice to be made and it should auto-resolve. This saves wasted time, especially in turn-based mode.

Definitely not. Some players will want to build a colonist and others won't. It's often a critical decision. Also, if we get the Salsa expansion, which we need to keep this game from getting too dry, then there will be a critical forum tile choice when playing the tribune, as well as some forum tiles potentially already in possession that interact with the tribune card.

Still worth it to implement autoplay when the player has no resources for a colonist.

Not worth it. It's so rare anyway.
And players like to see what they play.

Autoplay the card doesn't mean to skip the following button that asks whether to build a colonist.

So what would autoplaying the card do if you still have to make the decision about the colonist?

But I'm with those above who say, I like making my own moves. Even if it's automatic (last card, can't afford a colonist). Turn-based, I use my move time to check up on the status of the game. I don't want to find everyone else has made two moves since my last one. Maybe I'd feel differently if this were a frequently occurring problem. If your games are going on forever, it's not because of this.

One click less. :)
The solution is simple: insert an option to decide, so everybody can do whatever they prefer. Other games already have some checkbox for situations like this, as in Puerto Rico for the captain phase, to autoload the barrels on the ship when there's no choice.
