What surprises me is not so much Kumbi’s high rating as the fact that he has not lost a single game so far. I also play reasonably well, but from time to time I lose even to players who are not among the strongest. Most likely, he learned the game somewhere earlier (we are not considering the assumption that he uses a program, since neither today nor six years ago were there programs strong enough online). Moldovan players became familiar with kalah back in the 1970s in the USSR; the rules of the game and individual games were published at the time in the magazine Science and Life (Наука и жизнь). As for me, before Board Game Arena I played on another website that no longer exists. It would be interesting if Kumbi could tell us about this.
