ALTAY: ways to improve this game.

Post by Lunalol »

Hello, dear players, I need your help to improve this game.

The vast majority of your feedback (80%) calls for improvements to the user interface, but you haven't given me any suggestions.
Could you use BGA's bug/suggestion system to suggest ways to improve the game (and vote for existing suggestions that seem relevant to you).
Without this, the game would remain in its current state.

If you are not comfortable with the BGA system, you can, as a last resort, suggest ways to improve it in response to this thread.

I don't know what your opinion is on this game, but I think it deserves a wider audience than it currently has.

I absolutely love the game, but due to players' availability, it's hard to play it live and that's where the problem arises. Keeping track of deck composition when you have four or five games running at the same time becomes a nightmare. I think there should be an option to view your deck composition or a simpler way to track card purchases.

I'd suggest providing user feedback (error messages) on failed actions. Specific example would be when a user is trying to acquire a card and doesn't have a resource selected, show a message saying something like, "Select the resource to pay with before clicking on the card you want to acquire".

At the moment, you click the "Acquire New Action Card" and then the card you want to acquire (while having the needed resource available but not selected) and nothing happens, so the user is left wondering as to where they've gone wrong.

I think the archive action from the technology card writing it's bit fiddly since it ask AFTER the end of turn if you want to keep a card, I think would be easier if you could just use it like you do with discard cards effects.

There should be nothing forbidding to set aside a card before the turn ends

From rulebook : "END OF TURN: You can use this ability once per turn at the end of your turn".
So you can only set a card aside in your mind but not on Writer before end of turn.

It's not very intuitive, e.g. I only found how to view my discard pile by chance after looking up something else in the How to Play section. Why can't there be a discard pile that is permanently visible?
Would be nice for newbies if you could hover over cards to get more info on e.g. what the icons mean.

When players think that something is not intuitive, they can update the "How to play" wiki at the bottom of the page.

I had problems with attacking regions. The sequence of clicks required is not intuitive. It was be good if there was a headline banner giving options of what to do for each step. For example "click on a card to play it or a unowned regions to start an attack" then when pressed "click on your attack cards to be used to increase your attack value"

Being able to see your whole deck would help play as well
