Technical issues but ELO and Karma still deducted

Post by TroTros »

Hi all,

I played a game, and my timer seemed fine with no alerts or delays being obvious. (I have played over 100 games and notice a lag when there is one)

I was kicked out of the game by the other players (3p game). A bit later, I tried another game, and it was not possible to continue, but there was an announcement of major issues, so no ELO deduction took place for the second game. However, the first game still cost me 9 ELO and 10 Karma (#789102089 https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=789102089).

Any ideas how I can regain these?

Ironically, it was my best chance at going over 300 ELO since it was with highly ranked players. I certainly didn't slow-play, and it is a shame to get hit at this moment... but what can you do?

Thanks for feedback.

PS: I do not believe that this is a bug. It just happened that I did not get the "waiver" for this game. I have also looked at the FAQ before posting here.

Assuming that server issues were the reason for what happened in the first game (not sure if you can know if it’s really someone else’s turn without refreshing): At the bottom of every page or at least most pages, there is a section “help” and you can click on Contact us/support. Click my account and reputation issues next, then click on “my problem hasn’t been solved” (something like that) and then there is a text box for writing to BGA. Not sure if BGA needs some time to lift penalties so that waiting a day or so would make sense or if they should normally be lifted automatically so that you could be sure you won’t get it fixed without contacting them.
