I tried to report it by signaling one of the involved accounts but I couldn't find a proper choice, it told me that the proper action against kingmaking is to put a public red thumb.
But this goes way beyond a single player giving the win to someone.
If you look at the ELO ranking for PokerDice, nearly all the first places are trusted by chinese players with very random looking names with exactly 5 games of PokerDice played and nothing else.
If you look a those games, all involving 9 random pseudo chinese players the games are clearly manipulated.
In most of those games, all the players or all the players but one have nearly the exact same thinking time
In nearly all of the games, the final hand of all the players but one are way way worse than statistically reasonnable.
I have done a analysis of the game and with the normal rules, the chances of ending with a single pair or worse after 2 rerolls should be in the range 5% to 8.5% depending on strategy played (this includes expert strategies as well as noob strategies), anything strategy that is not utterly stupid like rerolling nothing with JJQT9...
If you look for instance at the first hand of this game:
https://boardgamearena.com/gamereview?table=760930939
7 players out of 9 ends up with a pair.
If I give a generous 10% of each player ending up with a pair or worse after 2 rerolls
Then the chance of 7 or more players out of 9 getting that is 0.000002998 , 1 chance is 334000.
If I consider a more reasonnable chance of 9%, it's 1 chance in 684000.
Looking at the stats :
And all 9 players have a reflexion time between 33 and 35 seconds.
And 0 dice rerolled (which I guess explains the poor hands unless it's 0 because that stat had not been created yet)
If I look at game 760931668 :
Also 9 players, 8 of whom with the exact same reflexion time of 9 seconds.
Not a single dice rerolled.
Game 760933608:
Also 9 players, 8 of whom with the exact same reflexion time of 11 seconds.
Not a single dice rerolled according to the stats
And 2 hands where 6 players have "one pair" (one chance in 28000 each time of 6 or more players having that if everyone has 2 rerolls)
Since not even the winner seems to be rerolling
In the first 200 ELO rankings, 192 are chinese with random pseudos.
And it goes on and on after that
And I looked at like 20 of them and they all have exactly 5 games player of DicePoker and not a single other game played.
They all created their account recently
They are all aged between 40 and 42.
I couldn't count them but there appears to be more than 2000 bots.
I don't know what the intent is.
Maybe there is one "real" account among them all benefitting from this.
Maybe it is a third party website using BGA as a mean of randomly selecting winners for some betting game ?
Maybe it is a misguided attempt to promote the game by artificially increasing the amount of games played ?
Or an attempt to troll the statistics or the leaderboard ?
Or maybe the dev actually did this to test the code and forgot to remove the fake games ? (seems unlikely)
