Thanks for reminding me of this one! I meant t check it out and never did, and I’m currently learning Japanese, so this is definitely of interest to me!

What a difficult question! First because I play a lot of games in alpha & beta and it's hard to keep track of when was the official release. And second because I'm a very casual player and don't really focus on a favorite game. But I'll take a stab at answering.

Castles of Mad King Ludwig was a favorite before I joined BGA so I was very happy to see it here.
Dinogenics because having watched Jurassic Park is half-way through knowing how to play the game.
Elongo has interesting tiles and the note about the Maasai IP in the explanatory video caught my eye.
A.E.R.O because there's no such thing as too many push-your-luck dice games.
Irish Gauge gets a shout-out for being a train game I can understand (please nobody disabuse me of this notion).

Games that are still in beta, so maybe don't count for 2025
YINSH has interesting abstract mechanics.
Biomes of Nilgiris because animals!!!11!
Tacta is one I'm simply glad it's online because it must be a nightmare to line up those cards IRL.

I haven't checked the entire list yet. But certainly the White Castle and Concordia.

Nice thread!

I viewed the tutorial for castles of mad king Ludwig.

Seems fun, BUT,

Have you played "Blueprints of mad king Ludwig" ?

That would such an awesome add to this site.

I have played an embarrassing amount of Welcome to the Moon, it's been hugely addictive. So, definitely that for me.

This led to playing through the campaign several times in real life with my sibling.

I didn’t know that existed!

Wouldn’t a real mad king ignore blueprints? 😁

Sure, if he'd truly been mad. Actually, he was mostly just mad about romantic castles, Wagner and his own imagination :ugeek:
