I don't see why you assume the loser in the game is "clearly having a bad time". Is that how you are, only enjoying it when you win? Is this projection?

You've said above that they're asking you to play again. They wouldn't do that if they were having a miserable time.

Someone above accused you of being too nice, but honestly, consider the possibility that you're being condescending. They're not little kids who feel crushed when they lose.

I think you’re reading intent into this that isn’t there. I’m not assuming people can’t handle losing, and I’m not projecting my own enjoyment onto them. I was describing a personal emotional response to winning in certain contexts and asking if others relate.

I think you're reading intent into this that isn't there. Winning and losing are a part of the game and it's expected that players can handle it. Players that cannot shouldn't be at tables. If you're throwing games over this something wrong is happening. You're managing to throw yourself in disarray over so-called sympathy towards players who are probably just playing a normal game and have no idea why you're making such a fuss about it.
