Alchemist Lmit

I just has a 3 person game with 10 discounts and only got 28 points for the alchemist. Is there a limit for how many points it can earn? Ive never seen one stated anywhere.

No, there isn't. The confusion is that you counted the number of discounts instead of the number of cards with discounts.
