Skipping Turns is Suddenly Being Allowed in All Tournaments Again

Post by DeCante BGTT »

Why is skipping being allowed in all tournaments again even when the setting says it is now allowed? This is really causing a lot of problems in the tournaments I run. I don't need to recap all the problems it solved when people were no longer allowed to skip. All these problems are back. I am having to make manual adjustments in my own spreadsheet to fix all these problems. This seemed to happen at the same time the tournament tabe disappeared the other day.

Got example(s) of where this has happened? Does it still list on the tournament page that skipping isn't allowed, but shows people being skipped in the games? Probably best collating some example links and making a bug report - developers probably won't ever read the forum.

Are you implying the rules of your tournament changed, ie. it went from no skipping to allowing skipping, or are you saying it says no skipping in the ruleset, and is allowing skipping?

That is correct. I run all the tournaments for WSBG which do not allow skipping and suddenly I'm getting dozens of reports of people getting skipped. I checked with other tournaments and we do confirm that the "skip player" button has now appeared when a player is overtime in all tournaments. Here is an example tournament. https://boardgamearena.com/tournament?id=472642 You can see the settings clearly say "Players cannot be expelled" Yet here are 2 games where players were expelled.

Very strange then, the reason I was wondering if the actual ruleset had been changed out of your control, is that happened to one of my tournaments recently, see this thread https://boardgamearena.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=47002, but there's no sign of that here, so it's very strange then that it's just not following the listed ruleset, but there seems to have been a number of strange ongoings with tournaments recently.
