Is getting 3 of the same clan cards really "rare" like the tutorial says?

Is getting 3 of the same clan cards really "rare" like the tutorial says?

Post by Herb Grizzle »

First game I played, I ended up with 3 of the same clan cards on my road on the first turn. Nothing I could have done about it. I played one card, and then drew 2 more of the one I didn't play.

The tutorial said this is rare. It doesn't feel very rare when it happens in your first game on the first turn.

Answering with good math would take me too long, but average math will do: you have 1clan, there is 7 clans. You draw. 1/7 chance to get the same. You draw again 1/7 to get the same.
(Let not dig to much on cards already out, etc...)

That's 1/7x1/7 probability. Around 1/50 games will start like that. It s all

Vedarkunt's got it, as least as a quite good approximation. Rare things happen, and humans are really, really bad at judging probabilities.

Being overrun on turn one can be great. You gain 1 Spirit and get 2 cards to.hand.

Did the math and it is that 1 every 65 (1.53% of probability) starts are going to have that scenario. Not incredibly rare, but quite rare. I think it's a boost in any case, although not major.
