Shouldn't I be able to choose the resources

When I can use multiple resources for the same thing, shouldn't I be able to choose them?

So for the tribe I can use books instead of anything else but I can get 6 books with one play so I want to use up all my books first instead of the correct resources instead of the minimum books I need.

Why doesn't the game let me choose?

You should be able to click the ability and it will let you control that. I think the feature is bugged though and it has given an error every time I tried.

I think it was a map function to change or was added. 8 believe now it only doesn't ask when I have no other choice but I'm not totally sure.
