Players who already lost should not score points if someone else leaves later

Post by jjgllg »

It is completely brainless that a player who was already eliminated before the game was abandoned by someone will score points on a tie. Remaining players beat this player, they should score a win against both the one who abandoned the game and the one who was eliminated.

Furthermore, abandoning the game should not be allowed at all, as I suggested in an another thread. This may be an issue that requires more work on the BGA side, not just in this game.

Anyway, when a player's timer reaches zero, they should automatically pay their blinds if it's their turn to do so, check if it is free to do so, and fold in any other case. Keep them in the game until they run out of money and don't ruin the game for all others. And if they later want to rejoin the game, let them; no harm is done.

if someone leaves, it should mark them as defeated and NOT end the game!

Solution: Blind them out as they fold every hand. Or even zero out their points! It has no impact on the rest of the game.

I left a game having lost and appear to be penalized for running out of chips. If I have nothing left to bet then I don't feel it was wrong to quit the game and play something else.

This is so annoying. 4 of 6 lost and left, almost beat the only guy left, and this guy goes unresponsive. And my only option is to eliminate him and get the same 5 ELO with those that lost ages ago, when I spent a whole hour playing and beating everyone else.

Go to the Bugs and Suggestions, and add a suggestion to implement "Keep ranking on player quit". https://en.doc.boardgamearena.com/Main_ ... ralization

I'm not sure the chances of it being done are high, but I think they are higher that way than only writing about it in the forum.
