Why do I get the penalty when screen says other person timed out?

Just played TTR where screen says other person not playing, they have timed out, do I want to expel and then, at the end, I am the one with the time penalty! How did this happen?

In rare cases, BGA fails to notify you it's your turn, and you wait for your opponent, when he waits for you and expels you.
This can be fixed by refreshing (F5) if your opponent is running out of time, to be sure it's not this sync issue.

If you want, raise a ticket in BGA side, has this is nothing specific to this TTR game.
