ELO discrepancy

I just finished the Ticket to Ride all maps new collection, and I lost 17 ELO to someone who had a ton more than me. I think I should've lost like 5 at the most, since the calculation isn't much when said player is more higher ranking.

Show your work. Do the math and don’t forget to take into account it was only your 30th game so your k-factor was 40, not 20.

There are Elo calculators online where you can plug in the beginning ratings of both players and the K factor and it will calculate the Elo change.
