How to report game hackers

Post by paw-paw »

There was a topic here already that got closed about a specific player who somehow hacked the King of Tokyo game and applies non-existant cards during the game, by which he wins every other time. This is proper cheating and misbehaviour but I can't grasp how I can report it because there is no such option on "report the player" menu and no possibility of describing the situation if it's "unusual". But even in the game log, you can see he was using the card that was never in the game or his hand in the first place.

Any suggestions?

Can you provide evidence, with links are screengrabs?

I would think it's highly unlikely and it's just something you are misunderstanding.
otherwise, report a bug with evidence

Report bugs, the game should not allow that. But I think this one was fixed recently.

Thank you, i am going to file that report now. I am pretty sure it is not fixed because literally 1 hour ago it happened in my game.

Lol, this gaslighting is amazing :D I am not 12 years old. Fortunately, I am not the only one who "misunderstood" it during the game. And obviously, there are game logs where you can clearly track that the player has never purchased the card Plot Twist, since it has never appeared on the game table in the first place. And then repeatedly used it (at least 7 times) to kill everyone in the game.

gas-lighting?

while all the evidence and experience is just in your head, how exactly are the rest of us expected to know?

You can bet that most of the accusations of cheating and/or bugs floating around are indeed just misunderstandings.

There are like 100 different messages of reporting bugs in the bug forum, just like the 1 above this forum post message - so why not just do that. This forum is for discussions, what exactly do you want to discuss? (a rhetological question).

I think I know what you are talking about. I have posted in the other forum about it.
First off document and save the evidence.

By fixed do you mean the issues that sometimes allowed a player to take a card from another player without having a card to take this action, to take a card from the discard without having a card to do so and or when a player accidently was able to take a card from another player?

Anyhow, thanks again Thoun.
