That’s a lot of scenarios to look at haha, are there 2-3 in particular you’re curious about?

The most interesting ones to me are whichever ones I was wrong about, which I don't know at this stage. It's possible several of them will be quick if they're just simple errors on your part or simple oversights on mine. I suspect the concession surprise scenario was just a case of you not thinking about just how badly you had already destroyed your opponent, so there may not be much to look at there and it's probably less interesting than the others as a result. The 2 black play was more of a presentation concern, looking like playing the 2 black itself correlated to the degree of the threat when in reality the threat was just as present at the start of the round and the 2 black play didn't really affect anything about it, which either makes it one of the least interesting or most interesting posts depending on what you wanted to focus on, since it's a comment on the nature of threat identification and not strictly play decisions. If you wanted me to look at all of them again and elaborate further I can.

No that’s fine, I just won’t get to all 9 scenarios so wanted to see if any stuck out as particularly interesting. Some of these plays look pretty bad (the round 1 where you suggested why not 2y… my play looks terrible there) but others require more time to look at since they might be about setting up for the next round. But I’m just clicking thru quickly with no volume on so idk what my own thoughts were haha.

Let me know if you found any kind of questions more or less interesting than the others. With time I'll get a better idea of what I'm looking for as I learn this game.

I've been branching out to some of your videos besides the Beginner to Master series, though they don't have their own thread. Are there transcripts of the videos? In any case, this post is about the video on allowing your opponent to have a color they're after.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=II1U7V3 ... 6t&index=2 As I understand it, if they're expected to meet, but not exceed, their expected quota for a necessary color you're struggling to fill, don't defend tiles you can't score unless you can delay their row completion by a turn. You don't even have to delay them if given the right situation. Simply deduct their expected takes from the remaining total and aim for what's left, knowing anything they take beyond that will hit their floorline instead of yours.

Something that bothered me about this video was the requirement of the opponent not exceeding their expected quota of a color. If the opponent has an easy spare row that can fill that color, then you're just measuring your redirection damages relative to their ability and required investment to use it. https://youtu.be/II1U7V3HW1E?list=PLG37 ... n76t&t=371 I'm looking at their row 3 given the only other color is both scarce and needed for their row 2.

The reds scenario may not be perfect, agreed that playing them on 3 is reasonable for my opponent. But I think it illustrates the concept well enough. The sandbox scenario with blacks is more common and more clear.
