IDE - Eclise or VS Code

Have recently retired and have used the Eclipse IDE (and it's predecessors) for the last 25 years and VS Code a bit a couple of years ago. Trying to decide which IDE to use.

Is it worth me going to the Eclipse route (i.e. is anybody else successfully using Eclipse) ask as wiki is very VS Code oriented and nasty feeling that trying to use Eclipse might be a major hassle and a dead end.

You can use the one you prefer, but as you saw we have documentation for vs coffee while we don't for eclipse, so you would have to find the matching configuration on your own. If you're unsure how to do it, vs code is probably a safer solution.

Even though, as you've mentioned, BGA wiki is VS Code oriented, I'm using JetBrains PhpStorm for the last 4 years of BGA development and never had any problem because of that. If you used to something - not sure why it might be a dead end. I've never used Eclipse before but don't see any issues if you are comfortable using it

I'm using neovim for what it's worth - I say go with the IDE what you're most comfortable with!

I must admit when I posed this question i was woking on the assumption that I would be deploying and running the games locally within the IDE (like what I have been doing in Eclipse with java projects for the last 20 years) - bad assumption.

Now happily using VS Code.
