Matching teams in 4p games

So far, I have only played one four player game. Can team mates be paired manually or are they always assigned at random order?
And I get the impression that it’s hard to see what team you are in, at least on iPad. Or am I missing something?

Otherwise it is a great game en it is implemented very well. I’m very lucky my son likes it as well. We like it so much, I already bought the base boardgame and two expansions. And the other expansions are on the way…

Could you tell me how it is done?
It seems I can only add/select friends to the table, but don’t know how to assign them to a specific team/pair.

I still don’t get what you mean here. How do I pair first and second player? It seems to me the players aren’t paired based on the order you select them in game creation. Are you saying they are?
If not, could you supply some sort of screen shot for how to achieve this pairing?

I overlooked that option before. Obviously it appears after you select 4 players. That solves my problem indeed.
