At the risk of sounding like a jerk ...
Just make a move once every 34 days ?
My apologies if I come across like a jerk.

I think the general conclusion, or at least a strong contender for such, is that BGA only counts it as a “turn” when it becomes a new players turn. Which never happens in solo games.FrankJones wrote: ↑15 February 2026, 04:39 At the risk of sounding like a jerk ...

They are making moves. The last move made by the OP in this thread was a day or two before their game was cancelled. The theory is that the code is looking for the switch between players to define if a game is active. But in a solo game, there is no switching.FrankJones wrote: ↑15 February 2026, 05:46 If it's not possible to make a move in a solo game once every 34 days, then, who the heck cares if the game gets cancelled ???
The many quirks of a website that is has been updated bit by bit over the course of many years, presumably also always on a tight budget.dschingis27 wrote: ↑14 February 2026, 15:01 We can launch a whole detective game about these oddities on BGA.
Who can find out quickest that:
- Automatically closed games show a duration of 35 days even though in reality they close only after 41 days since last activity (and the FAQ says 40 days).
- The game type of friendly-mode games shows "real-time" even if it was created in the turn-based lobby.
- Ties in multi-elimination games are resolved by the lower player-id number ("oldest account advances")
- Ties in the Arena ranking are resolved by who has finished the last game (normal mode or arena mode).
- Number of trophies shown on profile page is different to the number shown on the trophies page.
Bonus points: How to find out who gave me a red thumb?
To name a few... (To be clear, I take it with humor, it is relatively normal that web services like BGA have such things.)
It seems like you've misunderstood the issue under discussion. Making moves in a solo game doesn't change when the system will treat the game as abandoned at all. That only works for multiplayer games.FrankJones wrote: ↑15 February 2026, 05:46 AH.
Okay, then..
If playing a solo game...
Make one move very 34 days ?
This cannot be that difficult ???
Let me rephrase.
If it's not possible to make a move in a solo game once every 34 days, then, who the heck cares if the game gets cancelled ???
I don't think that's confirmed. That's what I suggested could be happening, but it could be something else. Even if that's the case, it could still be game-dependent. I believe there are some wargames where you can play a solo campaign, the developer may have done something different for them. Or maybe they have the same issue.SquireKeladry wrote: ↑15 February 2026, 15:17 Making moves in a solo game doesn't change when the system will treat the game as abandoned at all.
Well, unless BGA weighs in on this discussion we can't be certain about any of this.Jellby wrote: ↑15 February 2026, 17:28I don't think that's confirmed. Ah, I see. My apologies, I was rather tired last night and was misunderstanding the problem.nik592 wrote: ↑15 February 2026, 13:59They are making moves.
