Front wing upgrades aren’t all that

Post by alexanderbrad720 »

I was so hyped to play the new front wings upgrade cards when tunnel vision was added on bga, only to feel kinda… disappointed. The drafting mechanic seemed so strong on paper and yet it’s not even on equal level to any rpm slipstream card. It just doesn’t provide enough value, even in the incredible niche situations it should be useful, and it feels like the cards have weak stats in general, but maybe i’m wrong after all. Am I the only one who feels this way??

I kind of thought it would be DOA as a mechanic. Drafting is helpful for defending from overspeeders getting away, and a little extra help on straights. Looking at the cards we have 0,2,3,4,6. 2 and 3 are too fast for most corners while also being too slow for straights. The 6 while fine for straights has a heat payment to it. Then we do get to the stars of 0 and 4. 0 has some built in heat control by helping manage your gear. Letting you repeated take corners in a higher gear while also sometimes catching overspeeders. I might be alone in liking the balance of the 4. 4 is a fine and balanced card. Not too fast for straights but being able to refresh it for the next straight is great. It won’t set new records but will help consistency.
