Maybe they were expecting every other player to take 2 days per move? They (the other players) could indeed do that, but they could also take 2 seconds per move.

That would make some sense, but as you say, you can't predict what other players are going to do. The comment though was:
Which suggests THEY (OP) are going to login every 2 days and take moves. But they didn't. Worst case, they should have made sure the email notifications that it's your turn are turned on, so they knew when their 2 days started ticking down each time.

Re: Why I'm not continuing my premium membership
So, perhaps the OP misunderstood "1 move every 2 days" as "4 days for each player to make their move".
Which would be a really bizarre and puzzling interpretation. That interpretation would require an assumption that time not used by one player gets added to the other player's clock.
So, on second thought, that probably wasn't it. Who knows.

Someone said something wrong on the internet. Thrill as the usual suspects pile on.

Re: Why I'm not continuing my premium membership
The OP posted in a public forum, writing a series of complaints, some inaccurate, about the reasons for canceling the membership.
The natural response to that, being that other people considering a membership might see that post, is to correct the incorrect information.

It would be, especially considering OP said:FrankJones wrote: ↑11 March 2026, 01:06 So, perhaps the OP misunderstood "1 move every 2 days" as "4 days for each player to make their move".

It’s probably not worth trying to come up with weird interpretations of what OP thinks is going on. Bear in mind, we see posts around here all the time of the form, “I lost my last five games because of XYZ” and you look and it turns out they only lost 3 of their last 5 games and only one of those losses was because of XYZ. It’s the same sort of thing here: they say, “I log in every 48 hours and that should be enough!” And lo and behold, they do not, in fact, log in every 48 hours. As far as I’m concerned, that’s case closed.
Re: Why I'm not continuing my premium membership
That, and the fact that they haven't been back to respond to any of the feedback provided to them, despite having been quoted multiple times, which means had they been near the forums, they would have been notified about the responses here.BarnardsStar wrote: ↑11 March 2026, 03:58 It’s the same sort of thing here: they say, “I log in every 48 hours and that should be enough!” And lo and behold, they do not, in fact, log in every 48 hours. Then again, it hasn't quite been 48 hours since their original post...

Another point to note is that "threats" about cancelling subscription are misplaced. This is a user forum, and I don't hesitate guessing that the vast majority of users couldn't care less whether or not some other random user cancels their subscription. Those who could care (BGA admins or managers) won't read the forums. There's a "Contact us / Support" link at the bottom that may be more useful.
Re: Why I'm not continuing my premium membership
True, although I wouldn't expect threats to cancel get a lot of traction there either. What might more sense is posting on the forums to say, "hey, these things really bother me, can I do anything to improve them, or am I missing something?", and if your concerns prove to be correct, then you make a reasoned suggestion for improvement (or find an existing one to upvote) and perhaps even encourage other forum users to upvote it. If things don't change, it might be reasonable to then contact BGA, complain about your overlooked issue, reference your suggestion, and suggest the continued lack of improvement might sway your decision to renew (even then, it's very possible they still won't care). But generally these kind of posts feel like someone just wanting to shout into the void anyway.Jellby wrote: ↑11 March 2026, 10:52 Another point to note is that "threats" about cancelling subscription are misplaced. My Xbox X has sat on the shelf, powered off, collecting dust for years. BGA is 100% better.
