What good is supremacy, as opposed to majority?

Post by BrettsPeeler »

So, I'm not sure if I missed it in the rules somewhere, but it shows an icon for supremacy, and makes the distinction between it and majority. I get the difference is whether you are alone there, assuming you have majority. However, why draw the distinction in the rules if it's irrelevant to all cards, scoring, faction abilities, and feats? Perhaps this was a mistake, or a game mechanism that didn't make it to production...?

Or am I missing something?

I mean, it might as well have a separate icon for majority rule in a region while wearing a beret on a Tuesday while it's raining outside (imagine 3 faces, with berets, and some water drops above them and Tue, all on the same icon.

Okay, great, but does it matter? Sorry, but it had to be said, and honestly, if I'm missing why it actually does matter, please enlighten me? Thanks!

Okay, I had a thought, perhaps it's relevant for something not on BGA... Looks like the Old London expansion has mentions of Supremacy as a prerequisite for certain abilities or conditions, but so far, I think that's the only practical use case for the distinction from "majority", which appears to be otherwise absent from the base game's mechanics.
