I tried another game, and went for a tech tile on the first round instead of building a PI. Not sure if it was a good idea, but I got a better score this time. I won both end-of-game objectives, but didn't do too well on tech track scoring. I was really temptecd by the tech tile that scores you 3 points when you build a mine on a green planet, as it would have got me 18 points if I had got it early on, but decided to go up navigation instead.

Early PI and focus on Gaia and Navigation. Probably should have done more on research but sourced good size power token bank to build large federations and lead on tokens. Nice to see the solo challenge return - appreciated and doing my part!

Thanks for taking part OriProf! Make sure you choose "random" map next time so you get the same board layout as everyone else.

Managed to get 201: https://boardgamearena.com/10/gaiaproje ... =822928347

I never got a chance to take the 3 VP for gaias tech due to its positioning (always something more important to do) or top out the gaia track, and never built the PI. Still the adv techs for science points and gaia mines made up for it. I think I missed out on a few points here sequencing the tech tiles at the end (could have grabbed the knowledge points per planet type tile for 4 more points). In fairness to the high score, I did try several times to see how different approaches could work (rushing gaiaforming 3, prioritizing gaia mine tech and delaying the RL, PI first, econ track etc.) and never broke 170 with other approaches.

This is a fascinating puzzle and great way to learn the ins and outs of a faction, would love to keep this going in the future :D

Thanks for the challenge!

Tried a few times, this was my best score so far:

rodweb (165) vs. Automächtig (116)
https://boardgamearena.com/16/gaiaproje ... =822957089

Built PI on R1, focused on Nav track first, then Gaia for the lvl 5 scoring bonus on R5 I think. Got the gaia tech tile as my first one, managed to get 3 feds and built 4 TS R6 for the round scoring bonus.

Missed some opportunities to improve scoring, such as picking the wrong booster tile, and accepting power when I shouldn't.

2nd attempt - hopefully with the right map this time! Took a bit more time before going for PI (my usual) and tried research station instead. Had a few poor choices of booster tiles but made up for it in the end. Paid off also to await scoring tile for federations. Then maximum Gaia and adjacent planets while maximising charge from Automa. Learning...thanks again for the challenge!

156 vs 105 I thought I did great, and am amazed at how far behind I am based on other results
