How do you get your ELO points back if you lost because of a bug?

Today I lost two Wingspan games due to the same weird bug that I discovered today. I was not able to collect food and had to waste a turn collecting it again. In both cases, it was a very close game that I could have won if I'd had that extra turn. I don't see any "report game" feature on the end game page. How do I contact support or a mod?

What was the bug? Can we see it in the game replay? Did you post a bug report?

Some weird bug where I tried to change a bird from automatic action to not-automatic in the middle of getting food. I was denied a chance to get food at all and had to waste my next turn getting it. In an action economy game like WS, every turn matters, so it killed my game in both cases.

You're right, that should not have happened.

There are two ways to report a bug.
1) From the game itself, there is a link to report a bug, and it would automatically post the game table number in the bug report, or
2) You can go to the bug report page for that game and post a new bug report and copy-paste the table number into the appropriate field.

I play Wingspan, so I'm curious to see this bug. Could you post the table number and turn number (for example, "round 4 turn 5""?

As for getting Elo returned, unfortunately that is not possible. Yes, it's frustrating when a bug causes a loss in a game that could have or would have been a win. The good news is, this is a very rare occurrence.

As someone else said, if you play another 50 games, you'll recover the elo eventually. Because your elo is "too low", you'll gain more elo when you win and lose less elo when you lose. It eventually evens out. Elo is heavily weighted to your most recent games.

It's better to not stress about your elo. There are so many flaws in the elo system that you shouldn't take it seriously.

Oh, that's a tough one. I don't know that game, but that seems like a major problem. A game-breaking bug that results in an automatic block of the game and a forfeit for whoever is unfortunate to have a turn when it happens.

Sorry, you won't get elo "back". Karma penalties are cancelled in the event of a system-wide bug or outage, I don't think they are for game bug. But elo is never restored, because: 1. Losing elo is not a penalty, it's just a result of playing and losing. Yes, bugs happen, but BGA won't micro-manage those cases. 2. Restoring your elo would mean also restoring the other player's elo. How do you think they'd react if they suddenly lose some elo for no reason? And what if they played another game after and lost? The winner of that other game should also have their elo reduced because they actually beat someone who should have had lower elo?

That's news to me. I've seen Karma penalties rescinded and the extra 10 Elo penalty (I think?), but I am not sure I have not seen the actual Elo restored. But I thought I had only seen that when there was a site outage that caused people to be unable to submit a move, not from situations in which an in-game bug occurred.

Maybe I am misremembering or getting things mixed up.
