Note sheets

This is a silly question but are the note sheets shared between players or does everyone have their own for everyone else when automatic notes are off? I ask because if they're shared, a player should avoid marking their own sheet. If they're individual, a player can use their sheet to decide what's the best clue to give next.

I hope my question makes sense and someone can tell me.
