How the punishment system works?

Post by slav4ella »

I would like to understand how the punishment system works for confirmed cheating.

For example, earlier this season I reported a dishonest player several times. After the first report, he was found guilty of boosting his Arena Elo with the help of a second account, which either helped him win or preserved his points by leaving games when he was close to losing. As a result of that first report, he received some punishment — say, something like minus 50 reputation — and that was all.

Then he simply continued cheating, not even trying very hard to hide it.

So when I submit another report later, I get a response from the moderators saying that this player has already been punished for this violation and therefore cannot be punished again for it.

But if a person commits the same offense again within the same season, then even if they were already punished for earlier games, shouldn’t the newer games be treated as repeat offenses and punished more severely?

Why do I keep receiving replies saying that the player cannot be punished again for the same violation?

As things stand, this creates a win-win situation for cheaters. The player gets away with what is, in my opinion, a fairly mild punishment, and any further violations are effectively ignored because they are treated not as new offenses, but as part of the same old violation for which he has already been punished.

I simply do not understand the logic behind punishments for this kind of cheating.

So does this mean that once a player has been punished once, they can continue playing dishonestly without consequences and receive no further punishment, at least within the same season?

Or what are the actual time limits for punishment for the same type of violation?

If a player keeps cheating every season, but was already punished for cheating in a previous one, does that mean they can no longer be punished at all?

jeez it is so funny to realize that if you had written the nickname of that cheater, the moderator would have hidden it in a matter of minutes, and you would have received a warning, while your questions will remain unanswered :D

Meanwhile, the account that made a forum post about how they cheated for high ELO remains active and has created more accounts for more cheated games since.

Probably also a place for the general forums. Bang is one of the more commonly cheated games, but it's far from the only one.

This thread is gold and I’m glad I’m not the only one who realizes how ridiculous the whole moderation system is 🤣🤣🤣. Although it may not be the most important imo it’s bga’s biggest blemish and completely inexcusable.

& op to my knowledge the penalty is only -30 karma. Like someone mentioned above there are active threads with cheaters gloating that they cheated that get to remain for whatever reason but if you make a post with proof that someone cheated it is moderated within hrs. Not arguing against the latter but it’s funny. The fact that players can compete in the same arena season they cheated in is also insane lol or that a known cheater can have higher karma than someone who just timed out of a game.

This is so frustating. Spevially when there's clear evidence of multia-ccount usage. If everything is left at 30 karma points penalty I am not sure it is worth to play in arena mode any longer.
