Mega Europe should have 4 destination picks

As Mega USA, Mega Europe should have 4 destination picks after the game is started, not 3, otherwise it isn't MEGA but standard. This also reduces the amount of luck required for the game.

It doesn't make sense that Big Europe has 4 picks and Mega Europe only 3. "Mega" is bigger than "Big" and many more destinations lead to much more chance to get destinations not in your route.

I discovered that these are the official rules as described in the pdf file on their site https://www.daysofwonder.com/game/ticke ... ropa-1912/. I do think that this is because of the abundant initial destination picks, but (at least for me) having only 3 destinations picks after the game is started is insufficient for enjoying a full game, especially when picking new destinations is most of the times a malus, because of the bigger destinations pool of 101 total destinations. Also the moment of picking other tracks is often strategical, as for example when you see others having cities in common with you, but usually people gamble just 1 or 0 new destinations and with that pool there is no strategy to adopt but only gamble.
If we all agree with that we can push that idea to bga devs and create a new mode called "BGA Mega Europe" with just that little change. I appreciate anyone reading this message.

What you are proposing would be considered a houserule. It is not up to the devs to decide to implement such change. Only the copyright owner/creator of the game can decide that. So convincing the devs will not help you.

On a sidenote: your post did not get a lot of replies so it may be that there are few people Who support your wish.

I totally agree with you. 4 destinations would be far better. I vote for your idea of a special Bga mode with 4 destinations.

Extract of TTR Europe 15th Anniversary that includes the 1912 expansions :
"Drawing Destination Ticket Cards :
A player can use their turn to draw more Destination Ticket Cards.
To do so, they draw 3 new cards from the top of the Destination Ticket Deck (4 if playing the Big Cities of Europe variant).
If there are not enough Destination Tickets left in the deck, the player only draws the cards that are available."

Ask yourself: what is different between Europe and USA that could warrant such a change? Because, trust me, it isn’t an oversight. It isn’t a “oops, we forgot that USA has 4 when we were making Europe”. This was a conscious decision, and so I ask you to ask yourself: what could have been the reason for this decision?

Of course, only the designer can fully answer this question, but to me the answer is pretty apparent. It’s because the Europe map is less connected and overall “harder” than the USA map. You still CAN pick more than 3 if you want, but the lower amount is reduced in order to minimize bad luck cases. I play a lot of Europe, and let me tell you: it’s a lot more common that I can’t find 3 synergistic initial tickets on Europe than on USA.
