exploring after all others returned

Once all other players return to camp, and you explore, do you always have to explore twice in a row? This happened to be several times, but I don't see it in the rules.

No, you don't have to explore twice in a row. After they leave, you sit through another card draw/resolution, then decide again whether to keep going or return.

Can you point to an example of having to explore twice in a row (without having a choice in between them)?
