How is the amount of XP gained from tournaments determined?

It's based on number of players. After a certain threshold, you gain the full 300 xp.

It's pointless in reality. Virtually every tournament is 300 XP, and that's the cap. In reality the cap should be 100x this.

Tournaments are for badge collecting, not grinding XP.

Best way to grind XP is to go for Rank 1 Elo and Arena Champion in as many games as possible.
