BANG BIG DATA!

Post by slav4ella »

I compiled a database of my last 6,000 Bang! games on BGA and made a short video about the results.

Main numbers:

In the video, I go over:
representative win rates by role
some of the more meaningful hero win rates by role, especially for Outlaws
how Outlaw seat position relative to the Sheriff affects win rate

Full details are in the video (ENG SUBS) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hGj7c2rHEY

UPD #1. Added stats, when we got 1v1v1 situation (by math we pretend for the 33% wins here for each role)

UPD #2. Added stats: sheriffs winrate, based on vice death (from our vice and sheriff perspective)
Image

UPD #3 Added stats: outlaw winrate changes in specific situations

UPD #4. Added stats: Renegade checkpoints

UPD #5. Store value

I need some time to have a look at your report, but meantime thanks for your work - it seems very interesting.

I'm most interested in the difference in the win rate of the sheriff and the vice. It seems intuitive that since they are the same team, the win rate should be about the same. But both you and I have a higher win rate on the sheriff.

My stats are 38.5% as the sheriff (571 games) and 35.0% as vice (574 games).

Sheriff is probably a difficult role for pro players, and our statistics show that we are like that. Or maybe we are completely incompetent when playing as the vice?

I'm assuming this is the case to avoid the differences in outlaw win percentage, etc, but were all of these games set to the same player count? Just want to rule out things like 4 player mode's lack of a deputy skewing the stats. I haven't seen the video yet to see them say their stats, but I figure I should get that question out of the way.

I have an idea: check the Sheriff’s win rate, depends on vice death, maybe it will show something

Interesting data, thanks for sharing. It seems to make sense that an experienced player would have higher win rate as sheriff than vice as it is possible you win even with your teammate playing poorly or dying early, but if your sheriff teammate throws the game, you playing perfectly as vice may not matter
