Done with tournaments

Post by PrismFORCE »

I am tired of being eliminated when someone is out of time. This "feature" from hell is targeting me every single time so it is pointless to even try. Finishing tournaments and not joining any more.

I hear you -- I rarely sign up unless I have time off work

You should just play 2p tournaments. 2p is better in every single aspect IMO

That's a cop out to justify them not doing anything about the issue.

The issue OP describes is probably the most unfair thing that is still allowed to happen on this site, yet they've remained totally silent about it.

No, it's a reasonable solution given the options available. It would be a "cop out" if Andrei3009 was someone associated with BGA saying that - they're not (as far as I know), they're just a player like the rest of us. Plenty of people have complained about the issue, there are bugs raised, we've made BGA aware of it. If they choose to do nothing, there's little that any player can do to change that (beyond upvoting the bugs, and agreeing that it's a problem, but I don't think BGA are not fixing that because they aren't aware). Andrei is offering an option to avoid the problem, but still play tournaments (if the OP wants to do so).

Telling people to just stop playing those tournaments is not an acceptable solution. By this logic, we should just stop playing the things that don't work, instead of asking that they get fixed. No progress ever gets made then.

This is all the more absurd as there is a very easy solution to the problem, as I've already said before: simply make the kick out decision a unanimous vote.

What other response do you expect in a user forum?

The decision is already unanimous when all players choose to join a tournament with the option "Participants can kick out of time players".

Tournaments should have changed to the Heat method of all games play to conclusion regardless ages ago for any game that doesn't completely break. Fixes this issue completely.

The option doesn't state that a player can unilaterally decide to kick out someone, just that the players can decide to kick out someone.

When people sign up for those tournaments, they would naturally assume that it's going to be a vote, because why wouldn't it be? The choice to not have a vote is baffling from the developers.
