Finding the Time Joker button on iOS

Post by SquashEngineer »

Full Disclosure: I always play Turn-Based, and normally have 50-100 tables active simultaneously. It seems to generally work for me having a steady stream of action that I can drop into when I have a moment, and let them rest for a few hours when I do not. The throughput of action is reasonably steady.

All of my recent Time Out penalties have occurred because I suddenly get busy with life, and I cannot easily get back to my PC, and need to go hunting for the Time Joker button on my phone, which is very difficult to remember where it is, when I haven't needed it for months on end. It's frustrating because it does not seem to be in a logical, easy to find spot, and I invariably get a string of Time Out penalties over a few days distraction.

Can't the Time Joker button (on iOS) be placed more prominently somewhere against my profile?

I now see (again on iOS only) that it is buried as a small icon, on the "Games in Progress" page. But for the life of me, I will have forgotten that in 6 months time, and I will get timed out again.

BGA pet peeve.
Otherwise, love the site. (well ... maybe except for the marginally atrocious tutorial builder)

You're not the first to be unable to find it. Though rather than bringing it up in the forum, I'd raise a suggestion or find an existing one to vote for. Also, rather than "please move it somewhere", I'd be suggesting one or a few places that make sense to you. It's all very well to say "move it", but what happens if they do and you still feel it's somewhere unfindable?

Personally, I never use the time joker, but I remember it's in the top right corner of my games in progress page. Every time someone asks, I always seem to remember. So for me, where it is seems perfectly logical.

Yeah, any translation service will do. It's more that as I use Chrome, I pretty much use Google Translate by default.

Really? Don't we have enough AI, Google-bots, 1's and 0's, Chat GPT LGBT, AOL, tic-tac's, & la-la-la's by now such that any website, any browser, automatically converts ANY text to MY preferred language? I mean, c'mon. That's gotta be a thing by now. We're flying back to the moon already - we must have figured out by now all the language translation and incorrect units conversions by now - 50 years? C'mon!!!!

I think the "back" part proves that you don't need any of these to fly to the moon? :D

I think we did lose a few airplanes and rover landers due to poor units conversion. But surely by now I should be able to read forum comments in my preferred language without resorting to copy-paste?

There's probably an extension for it. For me, it's not a matter of copy-paste, it's highlight, right-click, translate, and I'd rather not have extensions if I can get by without, but YMMV.

My point was more that I have minimal patience for anyone who says I can't understand what's going on with something because I don't speak that language. Translators are imperfect (you'll lose some nuance against what a native speaker would say/understand), but for most purposes, you can understand what's going on. Sure, it's not a babelfish, but it's pretty easy.
